There are many organizations that are putting their resources into the fight for Troy Davis; the latest to join on a national level is the NAACP. Last week, they launched a new web site www.iamtroy.com, which, thankfully, focuses on Troy's innocence and not an anti-death penalty platform. They, like other organizations (see http://freetroydavis.com/chisolm_reopen.aspx for list) are collecting signatures from people urging Chatham County

Case of death row inmate Troy Davis puts new D.A. in tight spot
Some say Davis, a black man, was wrongly convicted of killing an off-duty white police officer. They are pressing the county's first black D.A. to intervene, a politically dicey prospect.

I have added a page Prosecutor's Role where you can find a comparison between DA Lawton's handling of Davis' case and Dallas DA Craig Watkin's view of his job. The contrast between the two is extraordinary! This page will be supplemented soon with information on the new Chatham County DA Larry Chisolm as we all wait to see if he is more aligned with the ideal prosecutor (Watkins) or those who tend to blindly defend their convictions (Lawton).
A special thanks to Dori

By all accounts from those who attended, the NAACP and lawmakers' recent visit to Troy had a huge impact on their commitment to play a pivotal role in vindicating Troy. (For those of you that have the pleasure to meet Troy, you know how compellingly he is.) After two hours with Troy, they left the prison convinced of Troy's innocence. See http://freetroydavis.com/news.aspx for a collection of news articles and videos from the conference.

I've posted some older radio interviews on the site. You can find them at http://freetroydavis.com/page1003.aspx or by clicking the News, Video, & Photos link at www.freetroydavis.com. You will be amazed at Spencer Lawton's comments justifying the execution of Troy Davis. You should check back soon for an interesting contrast and compare discussion of Lawton vs. Craig Watson's (Dallas, TX DA) approach to their job. Thanks, Deirdre Please consider making donation to

As bizarre as this last year has been, the reality is we live in a country where innocence should matter. As long as we believe that then we have no other option but to try harder. Here are some things you can do in no particular order. 1) Join our Innocence Matters group to get updates on progress and strategy during these critical days. 2) Write to Rainbow Medical Association, the folks whose job it is to kill Troy, and implore

There have been numerous reports of police and prosecutorial misconduct in Troy's case. The prosecutor has been aware of these allegation at least as early as 1991, and probably as early at 1989.
According witnesses, the State of Georgia, through DA Spencer Lawton, suborned perjury in a death penalty case. We are calling on the Georgia Attorney General to conduct a full and fair independent investigation PRIOR to executing an innocent man.
There has NEVER been an investigation into
